Min-Novation
meeting was held on 16.12.2011. The meeting
was organized by the Department of Mining, Tallinn University of Technology.
Min-Novation
meeting was attended by 31 people from mining
enterprises and the Department of Mining.
The aim of the meeting was
to present ideas of the MIN-NOVATION project and give interesting lectures.
The first part of the meeting dealt with
MIN-NOVATION project topics, given by
Veiko Karu. He also gave an overview about the Finnish meeting and our technical excursion.
Next the director of the Innovation and Business Center of the Tallinn
University of Technology, Tea Varrak
presented the talk “Cooperation between TUT and companies”. The first part of
the meeting ended with brainstorming teamwork on the pilot unit.
Ingo Valgma started the second part of the meeting. He gave an overview “Principles
of
selection of
subjects for student
work”. This was followed by
lectures by invited PhD
students. The subjects were the
following: “Using the heat of mine water” by Veiko Karu, Department of Mining;
“Equipping Kunda Nordic Cement Ltd with suitable raw
material” by Riho Iskül, Kunda Nordic Cement Ltd; “Mineral
processing
and quality
standards” by Julia Gulevitš, Kivikandur; “Sustainable Assessment in Mining Management” by Julija
Šommet, Väo Paas OÜ; “Recovery of oil shale ash.
Mass stabilization
of unstable
ground.” By Alexsander Pototski, Eesti Energia Narva Elektrijaamad Ltd; “Underground
mining and post-technological
processes” by Merle Otsmaa, Department of Mining.
