3rd MIN-NOVATION Regional Network meeting in Estonia, 20.10.2011

The 3rd MRN meeting was held on 20.10.2011. The meeting was organized by the Department of Mining, Tallinn University of Technology. The coordinator of Estonian MRN is the Department of Mining, Tallinn University of Technology.

The 3rd MRN meeting was attended by 15 people from mining enterprises, R&D institutions dealing with mining and processing waste management, and local governments.

The aim of the meeting was to present ideas of the MIN-NOVATION project and give interesting lectures. MIN-NOVATION project topics were given by Veiko Karu. The last  part of the meeting was lectures by invited lecturers. The lecturers were selected to cover the topic of R&D in mining field and waste management. The subjects were the following: “Copper industry wastes in Germany” by Ain Anepaio,  Department of Mining; “Baltic Sea Region enterprises catalog” by Raili Kukk, Department of Mining; “Chemical compounds analysis of rocks” by Maria Kulp, Department of Chemistry; “Current trends in the world mining industry (an overview of the meeting in Peru)” by Ingo Valgma, Department of Mining; “SANDVIK – crushers, screeners” by Veiko Kirs, Actual Baltic Ltd; “Crushing and screening bucket tests in Estonia oil shale mine” by Veiko Karu, Maris Leiaru and Raili Kukk, Department of Mining.
